I have heard the term aspiring writer all over the place. Unlike some writers I have no trouble with the word ‘aspiring’, possibly because I have collected a substantial Chaos Space Marine army for Warhammer 40,000. In a chaos space marine army there are no officers, there are champions. And the least of these champions are called, ‘aspiring champions’. But you know what that shortens to when spoken quickly?
So aspiring writer? The small semantic debate is silly to me because I always shorten aspiring writer to ‘writer’. That’s the important part. To me, that means one is working toward something. May not be an accurate term, but its not bad to qualify a type of writer.
I’m not sure what category I fall into, but categories aren’t the most important thing in the world. Categories simplify the world, make life easier, but they are not more important than that.
Anyway, have a good day.
