A big step forward in productivity is to just enjoy the work. For many writers, self-included, that’s where we began: with joy. I have lost some of that same sense of joy because I’ve been writing and trying to take things seriously.
The real effort is just to enjoy the process. And if one spends too much effort on something, one will often find oneself resenting the goal that one pushed so hard toward. And by ‘one’, I mean, ‘I’. That resentment is dangerous.
Rebuild joy. Rebuild by working with less of a fevered pace, at least for now. Rebuild by not taking things so seriously.
That’s my goal at least. Have a good day.
