7 Minutes to a Conspiracy

Well, folks, it happened. Yesterday the third book in my Root Conspiracy series released on Amazon.com.

Image Storm is a rereleased of a little novella once called The Bright Image, but it’s here. I really struggled writing this boo, but I’m happy it’s out there, and I really enjoy where it takes the story of Jeth and his friends. The original version of this series really did not get out there very well, so I’m trying to emphasize the genre elements. IE: The post-apocalyptic setting, and the weird future I imagined in them.

If that sounds interesting to you, click the image above and check out the series. I’m really happy with them, and with book 4, which should be out on August 21st. Thanks for your attention.

Writing on book four has been tough to get started. I encountered some serious resistance trying to devise the structure and form the story should take as I proceed in a direction I think people will enjoy. The story is flowing now, but I had to brainstorm a lot of ideas to get things rolling.

All eyes and buys are appreciated. Thank you all so much for any attention and support you have for me. Rock on, folks. Thanks for reading.

And buzzer.

The Bright Image has Launched!

Things have gotten serious for this week!

First of all, Thr Bright Image, Clean Book 3, has released in ebook format! Check it out here.

This book was a bear to write, but the books I’m working on now actually have bears and other large animals in them in prominent roles, so it sort of works out. I’ve gotten to the point where I really like the book, and now it’s out there, so give it a try and see if you feel the same way.

Jethro Gall’s story continues in this volume, and next week book 2 will be on sale. Give all three a read, seriously, it would really help me out and get me blogging more positively if that’s important to you.

Thanks, and here is the cover again, with a link to the book as well.

Thanks for reading!

The Bright Image Cover Reveal in 7 Minutes

Welcome back to the fastest blog in the west!

Hi folks! I know I don’t post here often enough, but today I’ve only got time for a seven minute blog.

Yet what a seven minutes it shall be.

Here is the cover for my next release, The Bright Image, book three of the Clean series.

I have a kind of resentful respect for this book. The rough draft mauled me, but now it’s done. As I edit and polish this book for publication early next month I look forward to seeing how people will like it. I will also be following it with a compilation of the first 3 Clean stories and some bonus scraps in volume one of the clean omnibus. The individual books are short, but hopefully, a full-length compilation of these stories will draw in some folks who would rather read a tome.

And a tome that one will be.

I thought The Bright Image alone would be pretty long, though it kept surprising me, which is one reason I took a while to finish I, far longer than I should have. Anyway, I’m happy with the story now, and am writing a rough draft I plan on submitting to a small press I think would appreciate it due to its genre.

The writing (and editing) continues as the heat here diminishes a little. It’s been brutal where I live this past week or so, giving us temperatures worst than most summers at the tail-end of springtime.

My tolerance for heat isn’t so good, and my laptop is worse than me. That said, I think the precautions I’ve been taking have set me up in a good place with this machine and should extend its lifespan. That’s good, because until writing starts pulling in more money I’m stuck with this machine and my main place to type.

But I’m out of time. Have a good day folks. Thanks for reading.

Launch day for The Cleanway!

Happy launch day to me and my new novel!

This day featured computer troubles early on, hence the late and abbreviated post.

The Cleanway is live! This book is the sequel to a little book called The Mangrove Suite. Currently, both books are exclusive to Amazon.com, and an audiobook for the Mangrove Suite is in production.

Take a look. Read. Review. Enjoy!

Thanks for reading.

January 22nd 2018

Here we go, people. The pre-order for my next novel, “The Cleanway” is now live right here.

Check out that cover! I’m very pleased with it.

This book continues the story from “The Mangrove Suite” and is about twice the length of that book. For those who wanted to see more of this world and the characters, this book brings that, along with an exciting continued exploration of themes deepening of the story.

Pre-0rdering this book is a great way to support me, but its also the best thing I’ve written yet. Book 3 will release in mid-March, by the way, so jump on this now and prepare yourself for the sequel. It’s a great story, and if you don’t believe that from me, check out some of the reviews people have been leaving for “The Mangrove Suite.” on Amazon.com.

I dare you not to like these books!

Anyway, thanks for reading. Always glad to post here.

Talk to you soon.

The Return of Blogging

Hey, everyone.

Let me just dust off this old blog here.

Whew.

By god, it has been a while.

First off, I want to say thanks to everyone who read and enjoyed the serials Tenlyres, Stolen Parts, and Invisibles. Those are going to be on hiatus for the time being, to give me more time to write other fiction. I love writing stories, but right now I don’t have the ability to split my focus and construct fiction for sale and fiction for this blog simultaneously.

Next up, there are only a couple days left before October, at which point I will be ending my giveaways on instafreebie.com. If you want to get Rem’s Dream for free, head over there using this link before the first of the new month.

Now, a quick update on my writing process.

I picked up the writing pace on Sunday, and maintained a pretty solid rate (for me) through the week. All these words either went to notes in the “Clean” universe, where my latest release is set. This is a pretty unusual genepunk/cyberpunk setting which also features an alien occupation of the Earth in the near future.

I decided on Sunday, after a solid day of writing on the second book in the series, that I want to keep this setting alive for a good long while. I don’t want to be bound to one story-world for my whole career, but I think I can commit to this one for a while. Along those lines, I started brainstorming some new spin-off story ideas on Tuesday, for use once I get some more released in the main series.

It’s also worth noting that I have begun a consistency challenge to write at least 100 words every day for 100 days. Lately, I haven’t always been consistent, and this has hurt my momentum on the stories I’ve been producing. I started this challenge on Sunday, so I’m now on Day 6 of the challenge, as of this writing.

Anyway, I’m pretty happy with my progress. I’m sharing a brief sample of the week’s writing below. It’s good to be back and talking as myself. Feel free to leave a comment, or click on the sidebar at mentalcellarpublications.com and check out any of my books. Thanks for reading everyone.

Weekly Writing Excerpt (Rough Draft)

He nodded. “It felt good to help. To be one of the good guys again.”

“Is that how you felt when you served?” Elizabeth’s voice was soft. “Like a good person?”

I remembered how she once told me her father had been in the military. Elizabeth rarely discussed her family, and I could tell at the time she and her father were not on good terms. She looked down at her plate with a sigh.

Thomas glanced at me. I unfolded my arms. The silence seemed absolute despite the other residents eating at neighboring places all around our table.

I said, “Don’t rush into anything, Thomas. It’ll be dangerous out there.” Outside the window, snowflakes started to scatter from low, gray clouds.

Thomas gave me a small smile. “I promise, I’ll tell you first if I decide to do something crazy.”
